Thursday Tip # 11 - Art and space

After a long hiatus I am back to Thursday Tips at the request of a reader who liked these short and to the point tips for "small improvements that have big impact".  For this week my favourite topic - art.


The biggest mistake made when hanging art is not matching the size/shape of the art work to the space you are hanging it.   Work should look "comfortable" in its space not cramped or looking like it is awash in a sea of wall.

And there you have it.  Large works for large spaces or smaller works massed together for impact.  No little pieces lonely on a big wall.  No large pieces squat into a small space.  Oh, did I mention I have a lot of opinions on gallery walls?  I'll save that for another tip.

Ok.. kawasan perkelahan Burmese Pool ni bukan satu tempat yang asing untuk oghang Taiping....
tapi oghang Taiping (Baca : Tepen) lebih senang memanggei tempat ni Batu Hampar...
terletak di tengah Bandar Taiping ... senang ceghite jalan ke Bukit Larut....
kalo kome jumpe Kamalodge Resort......War Cemetery dan Pejabat Pertanian kat sini...
Insyallah kome akan jumpe Burmese Pool ni...

kome boleh mendaki sikit ke ateh..
untok sampei ke kawasan air terjun nye...

kome layan je gambo2 yang awok letak kat bawah ni...
dan kalo kome berkesempatan atopon beghade disekitar Taiping...
ambik masa dan singgah ke sini.....

Ini bukan tiket masuk ke sini...
tapi bayaran meletak kereta.....
kalo tengok yang tertulih.. utk jaga kebersihan tempat ni...
tapi ....tapiii...... tak beghape nak bersih ....

Ada gerai makan yang selesa kat sini......

Ok ini memang rare....
awok rasa bekalan air bersih kat Taiping ambik daghi sini la kot....

Kalo tak sebab kesini....
awok tak tau pun yang sungai ni namenye Sg Batu Tugoh.....

Misteri Gadis Menangis Keluar Air Mata Batu

Kita biasa mendengar pepatah menangis air mata darah, menandakan kekesalan terhadap perkara yang berlaku. Tetapi kini ada perumpamaan baru iaitu menangis air mata batu.




Ia bukan satu pepatah sebaliknya benar-benar berlaku kepada seorang budak berusia 12 tahun, Saadiya Saleh yang menetap di sebuah kampung di sini.

Setiap kali dia menangis, maka matanya akan mengeluarkan ketulan batu kecil.
