5 ways to use a screen

I'm surprised I don't see more screens used in decorating because they are very versatile and there are so many styles to choose. Have you thought about using a screen in a recent home decorating re do?People have been using them for centuries in their homes beginning in 4th century BC in China.

 Through the centuries Chinese folding screens were ornately decorated with traditional symbols of health, prosperity, and joy and some were  painted with up to 30 layers of lacquer making them appear illuminated from within. In contrast, when screens migrated to Japan they took on a much different look  with their thin wood frames and paper panels. Eventually, the folding screen was imported into the West via European traders. Throughout history, the folding screen has had both decorative and functional uses.  Today the folding screen is still a multi-purpose decorating tool.

Create an accent wall

Large screens can be used as a backdrop along a plain, uninspired wall.  If you use one for this purpose it's important to choose one that fits the scale of the room.

Often you will see an application that will prompt other ideas.  If I had this beautiful screen to work with I would put a  plain light coloured sofa in front of it.  The clean lines would show up well against the intricate design. Did you notice how the pot lights shine down on the wall behind the screen adding a layer of light?

I love the layered look of this room . The screen has been placed on top of a  patterned wall.. Pattern and textures have been employed so well.  The pop of yellow is a masterful finishing touch and it makes the black screen so much more dramatic..

This treatment is simple and very effective. I like the way the screen  extends and includes the night tables drawing everything into the largest element.  Keeping all objects close in colour/value makes this small room expand. This  screen would be so easy to construct from plywood or MDF and then cover with wallpaper or metallic fabric.

Using a bench as a table and then backing it  with this fantastic carved screen is an interesting idea.  This screen would look equally good hung on a wall as a sculpture.

To think I was planning to send my louvered doors to  RESTORE!  This changes my mind totally.  This room works so well because all the elements are similar in colour. Nothing stands out; everything plays a subtle role in creating the whole.

tu dia nasik lemak ayam berempah

Seksa nyer rasa bila tingin nak makan tapi takkan dapat jam tu gak, jauh bebenor nak kesana haa... dulu selalu gak singgah sini pekena nasi lemak ayam berempah, takpun layan secawan kopi panas ngan tauhu bakar sambil makan, dan borak-borak .

Nasi lemak bungkus pun ado... Rm3 hengget, skang dah naik lg kot.

Siang tadi ada gak bunyik kat en hubby, mana la tau kot-kot masa antor anak balik klang nanti boleh singgah. tengok pada keadaan la katanya pulakk.. Mementang sibuk sampai hujung tahun ni gamaknya mau gigit jari akak :) Ada rezeki sampai ler klu idak tengok gambor pun jaaaaadi lahh.. * klu smp tahap gaban siap ngences tingat nasik lemak  abis la en hubby kena dera ! *

pas makan layan minum kopi panas .. :)

Selain dari nasik lemak, ada  nasi dagang, lontong, asam laksa, tauhu bakar dan banyak lagi ikut pada selera memasing, kadang ada orang kata tak sedap ! tapi kalau dah teringin sangat mcm deena ni sedap ker tak mesti nak gak walau dapat skit.
 

p/s:  jarang jumpa nasik lemak ada sayur kangkung skang ni...

Kebaikan Air Kosong

Assalamualaikum,

Lama tak berupdate. Sebenarnya kalau dulu kan, susah sangat nak minum air masak atau air kosong time-time masa terluang. Sebab air tu kan takde rasa apa, so rasa tak sedaplah kan. Tetapi, sejak bergelar ibu lebih kurang tiga tahun dulu, sampai sekarang, air masak atau air kosong ni memang dah jadi tabiat. Kat ofis, kalau masa terluang tu, ada je nak minum air. So, memang air masak lah jadi pilihan. Kang minum air manis banyak-banyak, penyakit lain pulak datang.

Sebaik saja bangun, kalau minum air kosong, boleh menghindarkan kita daripada penyakit. Persatuan Perubatan Jepun yang buat kajian ni. Kalau dorang tipu, salahlah fakta ni. Antara penyakit yang boleh dihindari adalah seperti sakit kepala, sistem jantung, degupan jantung yang pantas, epilepsi, kegemukan (agaknya sebab tu orang Jepun tak ramai yang gemuk kot..), batuk kering, asma, bronkitis, buah pinggang, jangkitan urin, muntah, gastrik, kencing manis, penyakit mata, kanser, senggugut, sakit tekak, hidung dan mulut.

KAEDAHNYA:

1. Minum air lebih kurang 4 x 160ml air sebelum menggosok gigi (sebabnya tidak diketahui)
2. Gosok gigi dan bersihkan mulut, tetapi jangan makan atau minum selama 45 minit. Bolehlah mandi-mandi, bersiap diri nak pergi kerja.
3. 15 minit selepas bersarapan, makan tengah hari dan makan malam, jangan mengambil apa-apa makanan atau minuman dalam tempoh masa 2 jam.
4. Bagi yang menghadapi masalah dalam berusaha minum air 4 gelas sehari (terutamanya yang berusia, menghidap penyakit atau yang tidak mampu), boleh mulakan mengambil air sedikit demi sedikit sehingga mencapai jumlah sepatutnya.

Ini antara kaedah yang dipercayai mampu menghindarkan diri dari pelbagai penyakit. Apa pun, kita hanya berusaha. Yang menentukan sakit atau tidak, hanya Dia yang satu.

SPM 2011

Esok Isnin 14hb November 2011 akan bermulah peperiksaan besar dalam sistem akademik sekolah menengah iaitu SIJIL PELAJARAN MALAYSIA atau lebih dikenali dengan SPM sahaja.

Tahun ini saya tiada anak yang akan menduduki peperiksaan ini, namun saya tidak mahu ketinggalan untuk mengucapkan Salamat Maju Jaya kepada semua calon-calon SPM dan mendoakan agar mereka, terutamanya anak2 saudara-mara, sahabat-handai dan rakan bloggers yang mungkin juga ada yang terdiri dari kalangan pelajar Tingkatan Lima ...nasihat auntie, bacalah doa penerang hati, mohonlah kepada Allah kerana sekarang tiada masa lagi bagi anda untuk membuat persiapan, sekarang hanyalah masa untuk anda membuktikan segala persiapan yang telah dilakukan selama ini...

SEMOGA ALLAH SWT PERMUDAHKAN URUSAN MENJAWAB SOALAN DAN MELAPANGKAN DADA DAN FIKIRAN DARI PERASAAN KUSUT, DAN DAPAT MENJAWAB DENGAN TENANG DAN FIKIRAN YANG TERBUKA DAN LAPANG.SEMOGA ALLAH JUGA MELANCARKAN SEGALANYA.
